In this short interview Richard Bewes spoke of his experience of revival in East Africa and the signs of genuine revival today.
Richard Bewes first experienced revival as a child, to the sound of thousands of African voices singing. In Under the Thorn Tree, he retells this and many other stories from his lifetime of working and living to further the Kingdom of Christ. Revival comes with the sole pursuit of Jesus – He encompasses everything.

“Born out of the family’s experience of the East African Revival and passionate about seeing such refreshment and renewal again, Richard Bewes tells the story of God’s sovereign work in bringing revival across nations and down the ages. Richard’s wealth of biblical wisdom and warmth caused me to plead: “Do it again, Lord, and start with me!” Do read this book and pray for times of refreshing, renewal and, please God, Revival!” Simon Vibert, Vicar, Christ Church, Virginia Water

Richard Bewes was the Rector of All Souls Church in the centre of London from 1983 until his retirement in 2004. In 2005 he was awarded an OBE for his services to the Church of England. Richard died peacefully, after a period of illness, at home in Virginia Water, Surrey, on 10 May, aged 84. Obituary: Prebendary Richard Bewes
