Sabeel Jerusalem, in partnership with many other Palestinian and international organisations, have launched an initiative called Kumi Now – https://kuminow.com/
Each week the Kumi Now project will highlight a different organisation working to raise awareness about specific issues in Israel-Palestine, provide information about an issue of injustice through the stories of those effected, and promote a creative nonviolent advocacy action. The goal is to raise awareness on Palestine and exert pressure on the powerful decision makers of the world to do what is right in order to end the occupation and build a just peace.
Rev. Dr. Stephen Sizer gave a powerful talk on the historical roots of Christian Zionism, its theological basis and political agenda at the Jerusalem Fund in Washington, DC on Oct. 24. Jerusalem Fund’s executive director Mohamed Mohamed introduced Sizer as the founder of Peacemaker Trust for Persecuted Minorities based in the U.K. and the author of Christian Zionism: Road Map to Armageddon? An interview with Miranda Pinch about her new film.
100 years ago Britain’s Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour set in motion the vision of Israel… His ‘Balfour Declaration’ had another, disastrous impact: the dispossession of the Palestinian people.
This film looks at other visions — including a wide range of views from occupied Palestine today, ranging from anger to attempts at envisioning a future. It also shows the vision of another Englishman: the contemporary artist Banksy, who has created in Palestine a hotel that is also a remarkable satirical art installation.

Statement by the Patriarch and Local Heads of Churches in Jerusalem
“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
Christian Zionism is a modern theological and political movement that embraces the most extreme ideological positions of Zionism, thereby becoming detrimental to a just peace within Palestine and Israel. The Christian Zionist program provides a worldview where the Gospel is reduced to an ideology of empire, colonialism, and militarism. In its extreme form, it places an emphasis on apocalyptic events leading to the end of history rather than living Christ’s love and justice today.
We categorically reject Christian Zionist doctrines as a false teaching that corrupts the biblical message of love, justice and reconciliation. Continue reading

While in Melbourne recently, David Rutledge, a national radio presenter for the Australian Broadcast Corporation (ABC), interviewed me for a Radio National Breakfast programme aired on Good Friday. David wanted to interview me about Christian Zionism and its destructive influence in the Middle East, about antisemitism and Israel. We also discussed the work of Peacemaker Trust and the meaning of Easter. David had clearly researched the subjects carefully and his questions were challenging but fair.
