The Living Stones Yearbooks have been produced annually since 2012. They present a range of important articles providing a platform for informed debate and scholarship concerning the life and times, historical and current, of the Christian communities in and around the Middle East.

Leonard Harlan Rodgers

After a fierce sixteen-year battle with cancer, it is with a combination of great sadness and joy that the family and friends of Leonard Harlan Rodgers inform you that he has joined his Christ in heaven on this the eighth day of April, 2019; he was eighty-one years old. The sadness is for our loss of a husband, father, grandfather and friend who has been greatly loved and admired. The joy is in the firm belief that Leonard has ascended to join the vast assembly of saints at the thrown of Christ.

Reclaiming Jesus in a Time of Crisis

We are living through perilous and polarizing times as a nation, with a dangerous crisis of moral and political leadership at the highest levels of our government and in our churches. We believe the soul of the nation and the integrity of faith are now at stake.

It is time to be followers of Jesus before anything else—nationality, political party, race, ethnicity, gender, geography—our identity in Christ precedes every other identity. We pray that our nation will see Jesus’ words in us. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

Initiatives of Change


Stories of Hope from the Middle East

On 8th May, I attended an inspirational event at the House of Commons hosted by Rt Hon Tom Brake MP and arranged by Creators of Peace and Initiatives of Change, bringing personal insights from grassroots peacemakers from Lebanon and Syria.

The event provided an opportunity to hear from a small group of grassroots peace-makers from Lebanon and Syria who are associated with the international Initiatives of Change movement. They represented two networks which are working for peace through people finding new perspectives and a change of heart.  Continue reading
